How to stream audio to Stenomatic via RTMP

The easiest way to stream audio from your vMix / OBS / streaming software

  1. Go to Stenomatic room admin

  2. Select the room you want the translation to appear in

  3. Scroll down to the ‘Stream’ section and expand it by clicking on the arrow

  4. You'll notice the Stream URL is empty. Fill in the Speaker name and select the stream input language. The URL and Stream Key are now visible and be copied and used within your broadcasting software.

Important: Make sure the RTMP region is correct.

    • Europe is the default region.

    • If no region is shown in the URL, the stream uses Europe.

    • For Europe, the region is not part of the URL.

    • Other supported regions use a region-specific hostname.

    • Currently supported Asia region looks like: rtmps://southeastasia.rtmp.stenomatic.com/z?name=Speaker&lang=en-US&gender=male

If the wrong region is used, the stream may not connect correctly.

Important: If you are streaming from multiple RTMP connections into the same room, each connection must use a unique Speaker name. Using the same Speaker name across multiple connections can cause issues with reconnection pairing and may result in incorrect behavior or lost audio segments.

  5. (optional) Display the Stenomatic room as an iframe into your platform, make use of the iframe parameters
